BERMUDA - 1941 BERMUDA - 1941 'RELEASED BY PRIZE COURT' held Ecuador to Switzerland cover.

1941 (DIC.9.) opened out (on three sides) censored cover from Ecuador to Switzerland bearing a multitude of adhesives over the front and reverse sides tied QUITO. The cover transited New York where it was then re-directed to Bermuda due to the second world war restrictions of mail into a possibly 'enemy' territory. The cover was held in Bermuda for the duration of the war and received a strike of the two lined RELEASED BY/PRIZE COURT h/s in black. Little type CM28. Strikes are very rare and this is the only recorded detained mail emanating from Ecuador and addressed to Switzerland.
