1885 (MR.13.) inward cover from London addressed to 'F.P.Dalison' of the 50th Queens Tragoons Regiment serving in the 'Nile Expeditionary Field Force' Egypt. No arrival marks but a scarce inward letter and complete with original contents. Khartoum had fallen to the Mahdist army on January 26th 1885 and the British troops had retreated. Lt-General Sir Gerald Graham then led the expeditionary force into Suakim (Suakim Expedition) in March 1885 where this letter no doubt found its addressee.
